SMALL STEPS LEAD TO
BIG CHANGES: RELATIONSHIPS
There is no doubt that the current pandemic has induced stress and anxiety upon the majority of people. Whilst coming to terms with long term social distancing and lockdown in some countries and states, it isn’t easy to maintain good relationships including friendships, familial relationships and personal relationships.
HEALTH
BENEFITS OF THE SUN
Summer is quickly approaching in Australia, and I understand if people were to avoid those dreadful rays but what if I told you that the sun carries overwhelming benefits to your life? Try standing outside in the sun and really try to feel those rays on your skin, I guarantee you will feel the difference: Now to the nitty gritty.
The sun enhances your mood and increases productivity. How often do you find yourself stuck procrastinating? Try getting a breath of fresh air and stand in the sun, you will come back feeling refreshed and ready to take on any assignment, or task.
The sun can also radiate your natural environment. How often have you wanted to be lazy in your bedroom? Try opening the blinds! Let that sun in to start your day!
The sun’s UV rays contain Vitamin D and allowing sunlight to penetrate your skin is the best way to boost vitamin D levels. Try exposing yourself to sun rays at noon! Studies have shown that at noon the sun is at its highest point but beware, too much sun can be harmful e.g., sunburn.
The sun allows us to be more social, who does not love a nice sunny day at the beach? Who does not love long walks at the park? The list is endless. Every time the sun is out, I feel as though there are so many activities that we can do!
Although the sun has many benefits, there can be many risks as well. So just ensure that you remain vigilant when in the sun. Try slapping on some 30 SPF sunscreen prior to leaving the house or if you know you will be in the sun for long, wearing protective gear such as a hat, allowing opportunities to stand in the shade, and most importantly stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
